Cowboy
Cowboy is a Leopard Walkaloosa gelding who is about 15 hands, and around 10 years old. Cowboy is a transfer from another Rescue. He came to them from a gentleman that had them out in a pasture, and only really spent time with him once a year to ride, so Cowboys manners were very poor. He knew his size and he was kind of a bossy guy, the Rescue wanted to find an experienced trainer that could work with him and give him the time he needed to learn how people work. At 10 years old, he didn’t know what fly spray was or how to have a bath done so everything was really new to him. He’s come long way. And learned how to have good manners around people he learned that people are pretty fun and really enjoys the company of kids and adults. He rides very well, but still needs some tuning up that we are working on.
Moonshine
|
Moonshine came to us in 2019. He is a Quarter Horse that is Cremello in color and about 6 years old. I went out to look for horses for a person looking for a good western pleasure horse. What I found was Moonshine his current owners were very sweet but did not know much about horses or Moonshine. His hooves were split so badly that it has taken years to correct the damage. He was afraid of anyone touching around his face to the point the owners told me if I could halter him I could take him home. Moon was afraid, he had been "broke" at a young age and sold to someone as a great kids horse. Moon was 4 and did not know enough to be safe enough for children. When I walked in to try and halter him I could see his hesitation and knew immediately someone had hit him. I gave him kind words and time to understand that I he was ok and that I was ok. I put his halter on him and took him home.
Since bringing Moonshine home he has opened up from a people hating, not being able to halter or bridle him, lots of medical concerns, and not knowing what treats are. To a big sweet playful affectionate teddy bear. Moon loves people and loves to take things like hats and lead ropes and toss them into the air. He is gentle and kind. Moon is ridden by my 6 year old daughter and has so much patience with the little ones. Moon is our go to horse for people overcoming addiction, abandonment, trust issues, and sadness. He picks up on peoples feelings very easily and does his best to comfort and guide people when they seem lost. He becomes an instant friend and companion to anyone with a gentle touch. |

Ace
Sponsor Ace Monthly
Meet Ace he is a mustang gelding and our old man of 22 years old. Ace came to us very thin and very stressed around humans. He had been used for everything and only knew when being around people meant work. With time and lots of love and food he came out of his shell. Ace is a quiet sweet boy who is perfect for children and older people. After a few months of having Ace we noticed he was having issues with one of his front knees. After a vet exam Ace was found to have late stages of severe arthritis from years of hard riding. We decided to retire Ace as a companion horse. We will keep Ace with us as long as he is comfortable and he now gets knee injections twice a year to help his mobility. He is my daughters love and she cherishes the time she has with him.
Ace is part of our program for people who are new to horses and need a quiet gentle guy who knows it all to brush and love on. |
Jack
Jack is a sweet old man that was brought to the auction to be sold. When we saw him we couldn't leave him, he was so skinny, could barely breathe due to his heaves being so bad, and he is 25 years old. We wanted to get him home treat him and let him retire to a forever home with us.
Update on Jack:
Jack was humanely euthanized after vet examination showing he had a collapsed trachea which could not be repaired. He was loved for many months with us here and will be missed greatly.

Rainbow
Rain is a Cremello pony that we have here with us! Our little unicorn. Who was originally sold as a sweet child's pony. She was not a child's pony and was extremely aggressive towards kids and adults as well as other animals. The owner that bought her decided she was just to much for them to handle and we brought her here to the farm. Rainbow still has her moments but with loves of love and time she's learned people are a good thing and she has given us more trust. We hope one day she will be completely comfortable with human love an affection.
